  • The fact they now use walkthroughs to find out where to go or what to do.
  • Understandably daunting for anyone who wants to catch up. A single month usually provides at least 10 hours of content, and they've been posting since 2012.

  • Archive Panic: They usually post two videos every day of at least 10 to 20 minutes in length, and later changed the format to 30 to 40 minutes an episode.
  • Their playthrough Dangan Ronpa Trigger Happy Havoc got hit with this, both from the fans and from the Grumps themselves.
  • Many fans also complained about how their playthrough of Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, which was airing concurrently with Doki Doki Literature Club, regularly clocked in at more than 20 minutes an episode. It didn't help that Jingle Grumps intervened right before the crucial twist, though the Grumps quickly noticed how upset people got and made sure to put out a few more episodes of it.

Fans of the game were waiting for them to get to Act 2, where the game shows its true colors, but with the episodes still being only about 10 minutes, and any extra jokes cutting into that time, it took a long time to do so.

  • This happened pretty quickly with Doki Doki Literature Club!.
  • After more than 2 years of hiatus on the game, they continued where they left off, and Arin apologized for doing a disservice to the game.
  • The same criticism can be leveled at their playthrough of Majora's Mask, as we see Arin completely forgets about the Song of Soaring until almost reaching the second dungeon, and otherwise treats the game with overt scorn while dissuading Danny from getting invested in the story or characters, which are the primary reason it is held in such high regard.
  • This wouldn't be so bad if he hadn't made a 30-minute video on why the game is bad, but the series, in addition to its longevity, is also serving to punch more holes in his argument as opposed to grounding it.

The series is 84 episodes long, with many of the episodes consisting of Arin getting stuck somewhere, complaining the game isn't being clear on what to do/where to go, constant deaths which result in backtracking (and then more deaths because Arin refuses to stock up on supplies), Arin's baffling insistence on keeping the Hover Boots (a situationally useful item that otherwise impairs you by making you slip like you're on ice) equipped, and in general failing to grasp the mechanics of the game. It's now the longest-running series in the show's history, though they do at least break it up with other games.

Adding to this is that it actually could theoretically go on forever with new levels being created every day (which Dan realizes with some awe in Part 95), plus it still gets by far the highest viewing numbers in the show's history, giving the guys very little incentive to stop.

  • Many fans got tired of Super Mario Maker by the time the video count reached the 70s.
  • Word of God is that they're sticking to the same games because they're too lazy to change and reset the equipment. Coupled with the fact that episodes are only 10 minutes long and they don't cut out padding, you'll have long stretches where nothing is accomplished in episodes.
  • In general, many series from 2015 lasted for weeks with little to no breaks.
  • Enough time for people to get sick of it. Originally well-received, its second session lasted for 26 uninterrupted episodes as opposed to the usual 6-10. But Ross can't help himself trying to be the 1000 IQ puppetmaster, which in fairness feels amazing when you actually pull it off. If I recall, someone actually did some serious data analysis on a bunch of games of Among Us, and the players who talk the most are always viewed as more suspicious, presumably because if you're talking you're being noticed and if you're the imposter you want to not be noticed. If you're the imposter the last thing you want to do is talk a lot. Where one of the guys he regularly plays with named Weegee seems to be able to talk his way out of anything even though is also super obvious because he just talks a lot more when he is the imposter. If he’s not the imposter he sounds confident when defending himself, but when he is he always seems to get tongue tied. He just doesn’t seem to have the ability of I come up with anything when called out.

However I was going to mention that Ross has always been super freaking obvious when he is imposter. The kind of thing you would do to your friend because you know them well enough. Honestly sounds like he is either putting on an act for an obvious grumps episode, or it’s some kind of internal rivalry that I think he legit does have with Arin. Oh if he was literally trolling Arin then that is new.
